Pale straw in colour with hints of green. Aromas of fresh citrus followed by toasty and “nutty” oak characters with ‘sur lie’ overtones. Fruit driven palate with forward primary fruit of green apple and melon leading into a rich toasty mid palate, with a fine, crisp and long finish.
Hand picked Chardonnay grapes are pressed as whole bunches and the majority of juice is transferred to stainless steel tanks. A small portion of fruit is transferred to new and one year old French oak barriques for fermentation on full solids. The oak portion also goes through 100% natural malolactic fermentation to add creaminess and complexity. Both batches are blended together to give a wine that is full and rich, while retaining a vibrant fresh finish.
Drink now or until 2015.
Serve lightly chilled with seafood or poultry dishes.
